As winners ourselves of the entrepreneurship competition at the 2012 Summit of the Americas, attended by Heads of State including Barack Obama, our links are exceptionally strong in the start-up sector. Start-ups offer a very different career path from typical corporate careers, but offer some of the most exciting opportunities available for the most ambitious. We offer international entrepreneurship internship opportunities in all of our program destinations.
Entrepreneurship can be defined as the catalyst that opens minds to creativity and innovation. Many of the biggest names in business started out small but are now recognized as some of the world’s most influential minds, such as Sir Richard Branson. In this day and age, the truest form of change occurs in the marketplace. Entrepreneurship provides social, economic, and environmental benefits by challenging the status quo. An international entrepreneurship internship will allow you to gain skills by working alongside tomorrow’s business leaders.
Example organization of where we have placed interns in the past: EntrepreneurHK
EntrepreneurHK is an organization that works with start-up leaders and the Hong Kong government in order to develop and improve Hong Kong’s market. It represents a force for positive action, bringing together entrepreneurs, the business community and the government to promote entrepreneurship in Hong Kong. In the last few years, EntrepreneurHK has expanded into media, presenting start-up news, interviews, and analysis. This year it was one of the organizers for the TEDxHK conference, demonstrating the fantastic opportunities this internship brings. The Intern Group is proud to partner with EntrepreneurHK and regularly places interns in a wide range of international entrepreneurship internships.
Video testimonial: Harvard Business School graduate and Director of Social Atom Ventures, Erik Stettler, talks about his internship in Colombia.
“You owe it to yourself right now and for the rest of your life to apply yourself and get out of your comfort zone. You can always stay at home. There’s always a safer option but you owe it to yourself to learn about new cultures because you will only ever truly learn about yourself when you’ve seen yourself in different circumstances.”
