About New York

New York’s growth and much of its appeal can be traced to its rich history of accepting diverse cultures. Built on the hard work and ambitions of immigrants seeking a better life, New York City has become a global economic and cultural powerhouse. Birthplace to famous politicians, businessmen, actors, and bankers, New York has made a name as an international hub for multiple industries and pursuits.

There is no better city for international internship opportunities. On the world stage, NYC is influential in commerce, finance, fashion, art, technology, and much more. An NYC internship will set you apart. No matter your interests, opportunities in NYC are endless. Many of the most successful companies in the world have set up their headquarters in New York, confirming its strategic importance. Home to Wall Street and two global stock exchanges, New York is the place to be for business and finance. If your passions are in the creative industries, New York’s culture will allow you to experience an elite fashion scene along with top-notch theater and other arts. There is truly something for everyone.

People come from around the world to experience New York’s magic, from Brooklyn to the Bronx. Walk down Park Avenue, shop 5th Avenue or take a stroll in Central Park to live like a true New Yorker. Stand near the clock tower in Grand Central and experience what many only see in movies. The hustle and bustle of the city is complemented by the sounds of street musicians and slam poetry. This is where cultures from all corners of the world meet to produce art and create ideas that transcend generations.

From the sparkling Freedom tower and 9-11 memorial downtown, to the venerable Empire State building in midtown Manhattan, New York’s mighty skyline embodies the perseverance and prosperity that built it. The most impressive skyscrapers in the world will inspire you to achieve your maximum potential.

“No place epitomizes the American experience and the American spirit more than New York City.”
― Michael Bloomberg.

There are many visa options for international students who are selected to take part in our U.S Internship Program.

The most common is the J-1 visa. You must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Be enrolled as a full time student at a tertiary educational institute or have graduated within 12 months.
  • Be studying towards/have obtained a degree.
  • Secure a U.S internship that is related to your field of study and submit a Training Plan as completed by your Host Company in the USA. We will arrange all of this.
  • All applicants must have sufficient return evidence in order to be approved by the US Embassy. Return evidence can be a letter from your University/College stating that you will return to resume or continue your studies after your internship in the USA. For applicants not intending to return to study, this should be a letter from an employer stating that when you return from the US there will be a job available for you. If you hold a property deed for a property this will also be accepted in some cases.
  • Proof of funds. You must show proof that you will have access to at least $750 for every month during your internship in the USA. This can be in the form of original bank statements and/or a Guarantor’s letter. You must submit your proof of funds with your application and at your US Embassy interview.
  • Be prepared to leave the US 30 days after completion. These days can only be used for the departure and for traveling.
The estimated cost of the sponsored J-1 visa is 1,135 USD. Please note that this could vary slightly depending on your specific embassy or consulate’s fee.
  • You will also need to purchase insurance.
What is the age requirement?
If you have finished high school, you qualify for our programs. We have a number of participants that are on their gap year, although the majority are completing undergraduate university degrees. Our programs are also suitable for recent university graduates, MBA graduates, and even experienced professionals in career transition. The key point is this: every internship we arrange is customized for each individual accepted onto our program, and for their unique background/stage of career.
Do I need prior work experience?
No. As we are a customized internship program, our roles coincide with each person’s education level and professional experience. We have a range of program participants – from those doing their first internship to executives with extensive, impressive careers who wish to experience a new career field/destination.
Who do you accept onto the program?

Our program participants have included Harvard MBA graduates to a 17 year old on their first overseas trip. What our thousands of alumni have in common is more fundamental than any educational or professional qualification – it is an international mindset, combining a desire and ambition to further themselves with a keen curiosity to learn more about the world.

Private Bedroom

Your accommodation is conveniently located near cafes, museums, and public transportation. You will be perfectly situated to explore and enjoy all that New York has to offer. All program participants will have their own private bedroom, ensuite bathroom and kitchenette, with shared common living spaces.  All rooms come equipped with wifi and utilities, such as water, gas, heat, and electricity. Additionally, the building includes 24/7 security and on-site shared laundry facilities.

Shared Bedroom

As a way to meet new people from around the world, we offer the option to room with another. Interns will share an ensuite bathroom, kitchenette, and wardrobe with one other intern or student. This shared accommodation option is also equipped with wifi, basic linens, included utilities, an on-site laundry facility, and 24/7 security.

*Due to the scarcity of shared accommodation housing in New York, some participants in our New York program may be subject to supplemental costs associated with having a private room. Participants pursuing longer durations within the shared accommodation options should be further advised that this likely means you will have multiple roommates throughout the duration of your stay.
