Interns in this field may be involved in monitoring and analyzing political conflicts and making recommendations for appropriate conflict resolution methods. The role may also encompass providing advice on risk management policies, as well as analyzing policies pertaining to foreign affairs.

  3. Media Strategist

    A media strategist is part of the support team behind a political candidate. The role involves developing the strategy behind promoting a candidate to voters through campaigning. Interns may be tasked with planning campaigns designed for print, television, in-person, or online platforms, which can include drafting and releasing content to the press.

  4. Senatorial Assistant

    The main function of the senate in Colombia is to pass or reject proposed bills. A senator is involved in debating the merits of the legislation, with the opportunity to propose amendments. Other responsibilities of a senator include removing a president from office, declaring a state of emergency, and annulling statutory instruments. Internships in Politics in Medellin may see interns placed within a senator’s office offering insight into the daily duties of a senator while providing administrative support.
