Where are they now?
Success stories from our program alumni.
Alumni Spotlight: Erik Stettler
Harvard Business School graduate and Director of Social Atom Ventures, Erik Stettler, talks about his internship in Colombia and how it helped him get to where he is today. “You owe it to yourself right now and for the rest of your life to apply yourself and get out of your comfort zone. You can always stay at home. There’s always a safer option but you owe it to yourself to learn about new cultures because you will only ever truly learn about yourself when you’ve seen yourself in different circumstances.”
Sarah, Australia Program
“I’ve managed to secure two different jobs in design agencies.”
Sarah from England tells us about her Graphic Design internship in Melbourne. Sarah previously worked in Telecommunications but decided that she needed a change. She completed a Graphic Design degree and decided to do an internship to gain invaluable professional experience.
John, Latin America Program
John completed his internship in Medellin (Colombia) at Serfinco, a brokerage. He is now working at Coutts, a private bank owned by the RBS group, in London.
Shivali, Madrid and Hong Kong Program
Plymouth University student, Shivali, interned in Hong Kong and Madrid. She always knew that she wanted a career in Government and Politics and was excited to get professional experience abroad before starting university. The combination of practical experience and what she learned about herself during the internship was the most invaluable part of the program for her. She learned about entire skill sets that she didn’t know she had and gained the confidence to go out into the world and continue to achieve.
Miriam, London Program
Miriam, a graduate from Auckland University of Technology, interned at a Media Technology company in London. She had a great experience with her journalism and media internship. As soon as she started her internship, she was given lots of responsibility. She was writing stories, going to events and getting stuck in from day one. Miriam’s host organization were so impressed with her that they offered her a full-time role after two months of her internship.
