Public Health internships in Chile

Pursuing a career in the health field is a challenging yet rewarding professional path. Public health internships in Chile are an excellent way to launch your career and get your foot in the door. Setting yourself apart from the competition early on is essential, and professional experience abroad is the perfect way to do just that.

For young professionals studying health, an internship offers the opportunity to pursue many areas of the field. As an intern, you may learn about community health organizations, health policy, research and community outreach. In Chile, interns will not only get to know a new business culture and health system, but will have the chance to learn or perfect a new language.

Whether you’re interning with a local nonprofit or a policy organization, you’ll be able to gain experience across the board. Fundraising, advocacy and communications are just a few of the skills you’ll gain while interning abroad. No matter what your future plans involve, whether medical school or a full-time job, an internship will provide the competitive edge you need.

Life in Chile

Public health internships in Chile are based in the country’s capital, Santiago. A city of 7 million people, Santiago is a vibrant, multicultural city, and an excellent place to live as a young professional. Interns come to Santiago from over 100 countries around the world, creating a diverse and international community. As an intern, you’ll live in the heart of the city, with easy access to Santiago’s best restaurants, museums and venues.

As one of the fastest growing economies in South America, Chile is quickly becoming a multicultural hub, and a top destination for students and experts from around the world. Santiago’s many neighborhoods and plazas are full of festivals, street food, live music and cultural events. Interns in this wonderful city will never be short of things to do!

Exploring Chile’s Natural Wonders

If you have the travel bug, there’s no better place to spend time in than Chile. No matter the season, there will be endless opportunities to explore. To the north of Santiago lies the Atacama, the driest desert in the world. The desert is an amazing place to explore during Chilean winter. This region of Chile has many sights, from natural hot springs to the other-worldly Valle de la Luna and the breathtaking salt flats.

However, the most popular region to visit in Chile is Patagonia, the last stop before Antarctica. If you have a few extra days or weeks, a trip to Patagonia is not to be missed. Consider planning a backpacking trip in Torres Del Paine National Park. While it is definitely a long trip to get there from Santiago, the views are well worth it!

Of course, you don’t need to go all the way down to the bottom of the continent to enjoy Chile’s natural wonders. Pucon makes a fantastic weekend getaway, as do the Chiloe islands and the port city of Valparaiso. No matter where you travel in Chile, you’re sure to be amazed, and never want to leave!
