about Toronto, canada

Toronto is the world’s most multicultural metropolis. With more than half of the population born outside of the city and over 140 languages spoken, it’s one of the most culturally diverse cities in the world. Toronto is world-renowned as a financial powerhouse and a cultural melting pot. There is truly something for everyone in Canada’s largest city and economic capital.

Toronto is influential in everything – from finance and business, technology and life sciences to art, design, fashion and much more. No matter your interests, the opportunities are endless here. Home to the Toronto Stock Exchange and the headquarters of the Big Five, Canada’s five largest banks, Toronto deserves its title as Canada’s financial and commercial capital. This is the place to be if you’re looking to launch your career in finance or business. For those pursuing careers in the creative industries, Toronto’s cultural scene does not fail to impress. Home to Canada’s major broadcast networks, media outlets, art galleries and studios, Toronto has something for everyone.

Take a trip up the CN tower, the tallest free-standing structure in the Western hemisphere and gaze out over Lake Ontario.

If the view from the top of the world’s third tallest tower isn’t exhilarating enough, adrenaline addicts are invited to take a walk around the edge of the roof of the tower. If heights aren’t your thing, head over to one of Toronto’s beautiful beaches down below. History buffs will enjoy the Royal Ontario Museum, Canada’s largest museum of world cultures and natural history. Lovers of art and culture should head over to Harbourfront Center. Once an area of abandoned warehouses, the harbourfront is now the city’s cultural hub and the home of an array of galleries, theatres, eateries and festivals.

Shopaholics will never want to leave the Path, the underground shopping center that spans 30km. Nature fans won’t want to miss the chance to stand in awe of Niagara Falls, just a couple of hours outside of the city.

From Casa Loma to Kensington Market and Toronto Islands to the Hockey Hall of Fame, Canada’s economic capital truly has something for everyone. Wandering through the city’s diverse districts is equivalent to taking a tour of the globe, each one boasting its own characters, culture and cuisine. Be inspired in the epitome of a melting pot.
